Club Safeguarding Statement
Chew Valley BJJ is committed to ensuring the safety, welfare, and well-being of all participants, particularly children, young people, and adults at risk. We believe that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and that all members, staff, volunteers, and parents have a role to play in creating a safe and inclusive environment.
Our Commitment to Safeguarding
We adhere to national safeguarding guidelines and follow the best practices set out by recognised governing bodies. This includes:
- Maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all students.
- Ensuring all instructors and volunteers working with children or vulnerable adults have an enhanced DBS check.
- Providing safeguarding training to all relevant staff and volunteers.
- Implementing clear policies for child protection, anti-bullying, and appropriate behaviour.
- Encouraging a culture where concerns can be raised and addressed promptly.
